Eclypse – Black cat running along the path in front of a gated entrance of a French Village home.

This wall and gated entrance, with the typical French Style ‘Romeo and Juliet’ balcony above, was a favourite of Rachael’s, located in the same village where Rachael lived for 5 years during her time in France. Rachael knew she wanted to capture a cat running along the path, but this was a scene that could take years to capture if she waited for it to happen, and with a deadline looming for the completion of her French Cat book, time was not in her favor. So Rachael asked a local cat owner, who she knew had a beautiful young cat with quite a relaxed nature if she would be keen to see if Eclypse would perform. Choosing the quietest time of day, not sure how it would go, Rachael and Eclypse’s owner headed up to the village square where the location was situated; Rachael set up her camera with the perfect framing, ready to capture the image as soon as Eclypse was released from her travel cage. With Eclypse’s owner positioned just out of frame to the left of the image, and her daughter with Eclypse on the right. When Eclypse was released, her name was called and she proceeded to perfectly run along the path towards her ‘mum’. Safely back in the arms of her owner, and only a few minutes later, Rachael had the perfect image.

This image was published in Rachael’s book The French Cat

Eclypse was captured by Rachael using her H3 Hasselblad Digital Camera in Natural Light in the village square of Causses et Veyran, in the Languedoc Region of the South of France.

Rachael recommends this image to be framed using a Black, White, or Dark Wood Frame, with or without a white border.
