Sasha – 14-year-old Bengal Tiger

Rachael photographed Sasha at the Bullen’s residence in the Blue Mountains just out of Sydney Australia. Sasha was the beloved pet of Brenton Bullen, one of the sons of the Famous Bullen’s Circus who retired from Circus performing many years ago and now have a wonderful farm sanctuary for many retired and rescued wildlife animals. Sasha was a magnificent and regal creature. The first time Rachael met Sasha she was lounging on a Billiard Table in the Ballroom of the Bullen’s majestic residence, apparently one of her favorite resting places. After meeting Sasha, Rachael moved through to the kitchen area to have a cup of tea with the Bullen Family, standing in the kitchen Rachael looked down as Arjuna, a two-month-old Lion Cub rolled upside down at her feet and playfully grabbed her leg and started to bite at her jeans, gently; Rachael feels so incredibly grateful and lucky to have had so many amazing experiences over the years working with some incredible people and their beloved pets.

This image was published in Rachael’s book It’s a Zoo Out There.

Sasha was photographed on Rachael’s 4x5 inch Toyo View Camera with Tmax 100 Film using a large Elinchrom Octa Studio Flash.

Rachael recommends this image to be framed using a White, Black, or Dark Brown Frame, with or without a white border.
