Sunflowers, Provence, France

While wandering the alleyways of Roussillon, one of the most beautiful villages of France, Rachael came across this quaint windowsill. She had been looking for the perfect scene to place an antique French jug she had purchased from a local Brocanté. It was in the heart of summer, and Rachael thought that the setting would benefit from the addition of sunflowers to add to the Provençal scene. She had seen a field of Sunflowers on the road as they traveled into the village, so off she set. Finding the field, she knocked on the door of the house adjacent to the field asking if the sunflowers belonged to them, they did. With permission granted to gather a few flowers from the field, she headed back to the windowsill with a handful of sunflowers and her jug in hand to capture this scene to add to her collection of French scenic images.

This image was published in Rachael’s book Lunch in Provence.

Rachael captured this image on her Hasselblad H3 Digital Camera, in Natural Light in the town of Roussillon de Provence, France.

Rachael recommends this image be framed using a White or Whitewashed Frame, with or without a white border.
