Titus – Black Cat sitting on an old tin barrel in a quaint setting in the small village of Causses et Veyran in the South of France.

This setting was a favorite of Rachael’s, a scene she saw daily when out walking with her dog Kizzie when they were staying in their home in the South of France. She knew she wanted to capture a cat sitting on the old drum for inclusion in her book showcasing the Cats of France, after weeks of watching, it was obvious no cat lived nearby. So Rachael approached one of her neighbors, who lived a couple of houses down the road, and asked if it was possible to try and bring Titus, his young black cat, up the road to sit on the old tin drum. “Pas de problème” Karl was keen and thought Titus wouldn’t mind being a model for a few minutes. So Karl carried Titus up the road under his arm, placed him on the barrel, and tucked himself down behind the barrel, just in case Titus decided to do a runner. Rachael had her young baby daughter with her while photographing Titus, and Charlize’s gurgles were the perfect distraction to get Titus to sit alert, turning his head perfectly to watch Charlize play amongst the leaves.

This image was published in Rachael’s book The French Cat

Titus was captured by Rachael using her H3 Hasselblad Digital Camera in Natural Light in the gorgeous French Village of Causses et Veyran, in the Languedoc-Roussillon Region of the South of France.

Rachael recommends this image to be framed using a Black, White, or Whitewashed Frame, with or without a white border.
