Bart – Adorable Jack Russell puppy falling asleep while sitting up

After a long day of being photographed alongside his littermates, Bart was exhausted. It was the sweetest thing capturing his portrait, he was so tired from so much play that he kept nodding off while posing. He tried so hard to sit up and watch the action but his exhaustion got the better of him and it wasn’t long before his nose hit the floor. The quote was chosen to accompany his portrait in Rachael’s book Snog: A Puppy’s Guide to Love was Albert Einstein’s “You can’t blame gravity for falling in Love”

Bart was Photographed with his littermates at the breeder's home in New Zealand, Rachael captured the image on Kodak Portra 160 film, using Natural light with a 4x5” Toyoview Camera

* This image is from Rachael’s earlier work, which were all photographed using a Large Format 4x5 inch Film Camera, and occasionally an 8x10 inch Polaroid Camera. Rachael used a very shallow depth of field when photographing with film cameras, this gives these images a softer more painterly quality when printed, the prints still look stunning in all sizes and make magnificent Art pieces, they just don’t appear quite as crisp as an image created on a digital camera.
