Cows roam the Beach, Waihau Bay, East Cape, New Zealand

This is a sight that you wouldn’t see often, well anywhere other than Waihau Bay. With only a handful of residents, it is not uncommon for the local farmer to allow his cows access onto the beach, most of the tie they choose to stay within their rich green pastures but very occasionally they decide to take a leisurely late afternoon stroll along the exquisite coastline; lucky for Rachael she was here, with her camera in hand, on the afternoon they made this choice.
