A beautifully produced 1000 Piece Jigsaw

Jake and Elvis – Jack Russell brothers photographed by Rachael for her book The French Dog sitting outside an antique Château door with vines covering the building.

The majestic, high gated Château de Beauregard in Jonquirères, Provence, is home to these two mischievous Jack Russell brothers, Jake and Elvis. Rachael spent a couple of days at the Château photographing the fur family that consisted of five dogs, two cats, and numerous horses. The Jack Russells were the cheeky and highly energetic part of the pack, every morning they would head out to the horse paddock for a game with the grey stallion, running circuits around the field. When they finally came to a stop after their morning outburst, Elvis’ reward was to sit on the horse, then it was back to the Château for a nap in the shade. It was during the hot midday heat when Rachael managed to get the two brothers to settle in front of the grand entrance door, shaded from the sun, the Jack Russells were happy to comply and attentively listen as Rachael murmured soft squeaky noises from behind the camera to entice them to look down the barrel of the lens.

This image graced the cover of Rachael’s book The French Dog worldwide, the image was also used within the pages of the book, along with a few other images of the dogs from Château de Beauregard.

Jake and Elvis were photographed by Rachael using her H3 Hasselblad Digital Camera in Natural Light at Château de Beauregard, in Jonquirères, Provence in the South of France.
