Le Porte, France
One of the things Rachael loved most about her time in France was being surrounded by so much history; the crumbling stone walls, the peeling paint, the well-worn paths, and the weathered wood, everything had a story and it always made such great photos. Rachael loves anything rustic and full of character. There are probably at least 100 images of old doors amongst Rachael’s archives, every time she came across a ‘photogenic’ door in France she would capture it to add to her collection. This one was a particular favorite, the colour tones and textures hold so much character.
Rachael produced hundreds of images during her travels of France photographing for her three French books The French Cat, The French Dog, and Lunch in Provence, not every image made it to publication, this being one of them, but this still is one of Rachael’s favourites.
Rachael captured this image on her Hasselblad H3 Digital Camera in Natural Light in the Village of Montreuil Sur Mer, in the Nord Pas de Calais, France.
Rachael recommends this image to be framed using a White, Black, or Whitewashed Frame, with or without a white border.
