Babe – a large white pig sitting in profile wearing tiny wings

The classic quotation ‘Pigs can Fly’ was the inspiration behind this image for Rachael. Babe was one of the largest pigs Rachael has worked with and the perfect candidate for the concept of tiny wings. Pigs are extremely smart creatures, it didn’t take long to train Babe to sit on command, and she wasn’t fazed with having the tiny wings strapped to her back using elastic that came down under her armpits (the elastic was removed in post-production). As long as there was licorice allsorts or a slice of bread on offer, Babe would have sat and posed for hours.

Babe was photographed on Rachael’s 4x5 inch Toyo View Camera with Portra 160 film using a large Elinchrom Octa Studio Flash.

Rachael recommends this image be framed using a White or Whitewashed Frame, with or without a white border.
