This image was created by Rachael for her first Book ’101 Salivations: For the Love of Dogs’ Dobie wasn’t trained to hold anything in his mouth, but with his gentle nature and willingness to please, it didn’t take long for Rachael to teach him a hold command for her to be able to capture this timeless art piece that will look stunning on your wall.
Doberman’s are often portrayed as vicious guard dogs, but they tend to be gorgeous soft-hearted companions just like Dobie; Rachael wanted to capture the gentle side of this majestic breed by adding a romantic softness but still keeping a regal and powerful portrayal.
Dobie was Photographed in Natural light on the balcony of his owner's home, captured on Kodak Portra 160 film using a 4x5” Toyoview Camera.
* This image is from Rachael’s earlier work, which were all photographed using a Large Format 4x5 inch Film Camera, and occasionally an 8x10 inch Polaroid Camera. Rachael used a very shallow depth of field when photographing with film cameras, this gives these images a softer more painterly quality when printed, the prints still look stunning in all sizes and make magnificent Art pieces, they just don’t appear quite as crisp as an image created on a digital camera.
Rachael recommends this image to be framed using a Black Frame, this image looks best full-bleed when using a Black Frame; this image can also look striking with a white border and framed with a white frame.
Framing
Fine Art Prints are available in five different sizes; 10x12, 12x16, 16x20, 24x30 and 30x40 inches
We have a collection of beautifully crafted Wood Box frames available in 5 different colour ways to choose from for framing your Fine Art Prints: Black, White, White Wash, Grey and Dark Wood.
Fine Art Prints can be framed full bleed, or you can choose the option to have a white border around your image to separate the image from the frame. If you choose to have a border, the image size will be smaller; for example, if you choose a 10x12 inch print with a border, your final product size will be 10x12 inch but your image size will be closer to 8x10 inches.
