Beautifully produced 1000 piece Jigsaw
Little Stray – a tiny ginger kitten Rachael photographed sitting in the courtyard outside a French Village home while creating images for her book The French Cat.
The evening before Rachael captured this image, she had been wandering the streets of this rural village and noticed a highly anxious adult cat almost hidden in someone’s garden. Rachael tried the gate to enter to knock on the door, but it was locked. A passing local told Rachael that the old man who lived there was ill in the hospital. The cat was a stray and lived in the garden with her kittens. The next day, Rachael returned armed with cat treats which she proceeded to throw through the gate onto the front path. Eventually, three of the kittens emerged, but they scampered away as soon as Rachael made the slightest move to focus her camera. After what seems like an eternity holding her heavy camera steady through the garden gate and trying not to make a move, the forlorn little ginger kitten relaxed enough for Rachael to capture his portrait.
This image was published in Rachael’s book The French Cat
The ‘Little Stray’ was captured by Rachael using her H3 Hasselblad Digital Camera in Natural Light in the small rural village of Peyrat in the Aquitaine region of France.
